Cars 2 was released by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures in June 2011, the studio's twelfth feature film and the first Pixar sequel to a property other than Toy Story. Departing from Radiator Springs for a globe-spanning espionage adventure, the film represented a bold tonal shift for the franchise and remains a distinctive artifact of Pixar's early 2010s output on 35mm exhibition prints.

This cell, titled Finn McMissile and Mater, captures a high-angle sequence placing the silver British spy car Finn McMissile and the brown tow truck Mater within the same frame — likely a dockside or interior location suggested by the purple and tan elements below. A circular lens artifact partially interrupts the third frame, a natural characteristic of the original photochemical medium.
