Pixar Animation Studios released Cars 2 in June 2011, the twelfth feature from the studio and a direct sequel to the beloved 2006 original. Departing from Radiator Springs, the film embraced a globe-spanning spy thriller format, drawing on classic espionage cinema while retaining the franchise's anthropomorphic automobile world. It remains a distinctive entry in the Pixar catalog for its tonal ambition and elaborate production design.

This cell, titled Rod Redline, Grem and Acer, captures a tense interior moment from one of the film's darker sequences. Rod "Torque" Redline is visible through a doorway or window frame against a shadowed background, with Grem and Acer present in the confrontational scene. The three frames offer a near-continuous read of this charged exchange.
