Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies released The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in November 2004, bringing the beloved animated television series to the theatrical format for the first time. Directed by series creator Stephen Hillenburg, the film blended the show's absurdist humor with a genuine adventure narrative, earning strong box office returns and cementing SpongeBob's place in popular culture beyond television.
This three-frame cell, titled SpongeBob SquarePants and Crowd, captures SpongeBob SquarePants from the lower body, his yellow socks and black shoes visible above a wooden plank against the characteristic blue underwater tones of Bikini Bottom. The sequence of frames reveals a subtle positional shift, with the background cityscape gradually opening across the strip.
