Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies released The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in November 2004, bringing the beloved animated television series to the theatrical format for the first time. Directed by series creator Stephen Hillenburg, the film expanded the world of Bikini Bottom into a full feature narrative while preserving the absurdist humor that defined the show. It remains a culturally significant artifact of early 2000s animation and family filmmaking.
