Paramount Pictures released The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in November 2004, bringing Nickelodeon's beloved animated series to the theatrical screen for the first time. Directed by series creator Stephen Hillenburg, the film expanded the world of Bikini Bottom into a full feature adventure while preserving the irreverent humor that defined the television run. It remains a landmark in early 2000s animation and a touchstone for an entire generation of viewers.
