Paramount Pictures released The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in November 2004, bringing Nickelodeon's beloved animated series to the theatrical format for the first time. Directed by series creator Stephen Hillenburg, the film balanced absurdist humor with genuine heart, earning strong box office returns and cementing SpongeBob as a generational cultural touchstone. The production was among the last major studio animated features to rely substantially on traditional hand-drawn cel animation before digital pipelines became standard.

This three-frame cell captures Mr. Krabs inside the Krusty Krab, his claws extended outward in what reads as a continuous sequence of motion.
