New Line Cinema's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring arrived in December 2001, directed by Peter Jackson. The film launched one of the most ambitious fantasy trilogies in Hollywood history, earning widespread critical acclaim and significant box office success. Its production, shot entirely in New Zealand, set a new standard for large-scale fantasy filmmaking and remains a landmark of early twenty-first century cinema.
