New Line Cinema's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring arrived in December 2001, directed by Peter Jackson. The film launched one of the most ambitious fantasy trilogies in Hollywood history, earning widespread critical acclaim and multiple Academy Awards across the trilogy's run. Its theatrical marketing campaign generated enormous anticipation, and the trailers themselves became cultural touchstones during the buildup to release.

This cell, titled Legolas and Gimli by the operator, captures three consecutive frames from the 2001 theatrical trailer. The frames show the Fellowship navigating a rugged rocky exterior, believed to be the Pass of Caradhras sequence, with the title card reading "The Fellowship of the Ring - Christmas 2001" visible across all three frames. Both Legolas and Gimli are present in the shot.
