New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, launching one of the most ambitious fantasy trilogies in Hollywood history. The film earned widespread critical acclaim and enormous commercial success, ultimately winning four Academy Awards and redefining what large-scale fantasy filmmaking could achieve. Its promotional materials generated considerable excitement ahead of release.

This cell, titled Gandalf, Legolas and Gimli, captures a moment from the theatrical trailer showing the Fellowship crossing what appears to be the mountain pass of Caradhras. Gandalf dominates the foreground, his dark robes and imposing silhouette immediately recognizable against the snow-covered peaks. The three frames preserve the same instant from this iconic sequence, offering a sustained look at one of the trailer's more atmospheric compositions.
