New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, adapting the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved trilogy. The film marked a turning point in epic fantasy filmmaking, demonstrating that large-scale literary adaptations could achieve both critical acclaim and enormous commercial success. Its theatrical trailer generated significant anticipation throughout that year.
This three-frame cell, titled Boromir and Aragorn, captures a repeated shot of the two figures together in a rugged, shadowed landscape, with the vertical title text The Return of the King visible across the frame. The duplication across all three frames gives the cell a quiet, contemplative rhythm, preserving a single composed moment from the trailer's original 35mm print.
