New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel for a new generation. The film launched one of cinema's most ambitious trilogies, earning widespread critical acclaim and reshaping the scope of fantasy filmmaking. Its theatrical trailer generated enormous anticipation in the months before release.
