FILM NOTES

New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel for a new generation. The film launched one of cinema's most ambitious trilogies, filmed entirely in New Zealand and released across three consecutive years. Its theatrical trailer campaign built enormous anticipation worldwide.

This cell, titled Boromir, captures Sean Bean as the conflicted Man of Gondor against a rocky, mountainous backdrop. The frame includes a title card overlay reading "The Return of the King," placing this trailer material within the broader promotional sweep of the trilogy. A focused, character-driven piece representing one of the saga's most memorable performances.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
