New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, launching one of the most ambitious fantasy trilogies in Hollywood history. The film earned widespread critical acclaim and enormous commercial success, ultimately winning four Academy Awards and establishing a new benchmark for epic filmmaking. Its promotional materials, including theatrical trailers, played a significant role in building anticipation for the trilogy as a whole.
This cell, titled Aragorn, captures Viggo Mortensen's ranger in a dark cloak set against a rocky, mountainous backdrop. The frame originates from the Fellowship of the Ring trailer and carries a title card announcing The Return of the King for Christmas 2003, making it a rare piece of cross-promotional cinema history. The cell contains three frames, the second and third being duplicates of the first.
