New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, launching one of the most ambitious fantasy film trilogies ever produced. The promotional campaign generated enormous anticipation, and trailer footage from that period captures the project at its most carefully unveiled, before the full scope of the films had been seen by audiences.
This cell, titled Aragorn and Boromir, presents two armored figures set against a rocky mountain landscape, with the title text "The Return of the King" overlaid across the frame. The strip repeats the same image across all three frames, a common characteristic of trailer release prints. Both Aragorn and Boromir appear together in this striking, atmospherically composed shot.
