FILM NOTES

New Line Cinema's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring arrived in December 2001, adapting the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved trilogy. Directed by Peter Jackson, the film became a landmark in fantasy filmmaking and launched one of the most celebrated theatrical trilogies in cinema history. Its promotional materials generated enormous anticipation worldwide.

This cell, titled Boromir, captures three consecutive frames from the theatrical trailer depicting Sean Bean's Boromir in full armour against a dramatic snowy mountain backdrop, likely the slopes of Caradhras or the approach to Moria. The low-angle composition emphasizes the character's imposing presence against the rugged alpine terrain, offering a striking portrait of one of the Fellowship's most complex figures.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
