FILM NOTES

New Line Cinema's 2001 adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring marked a turning point in fantasy filmmaking, demonstrating that epic literary source material could be rendered with both technical ambition and dramatic sincerity. Peter Jackson's production, shot entirely in New Zealand, became a cultural landmark and launched one of the most celebrated trilogies in cinema history. Its theatrical trailer generated enormous anticipation, circulating widely before the December release.

This cell, titled Boromir, captures Sean Bean's conflicted Gondorian warrior against a mountainous, snow-covered backdrop consistent with the Fellowship's passage through Caradhras. Three consecutive frames from the same cut preserve a near-identical composition, offering the collector a rare sequential window into a single sustained moment from the trailer's edit.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
