New Line Cinema released Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in December 2001, adapting the first volume of Tolkien's beloved trilogy. The film marked a turning point in epic fantasy filmmaking, drawing global audiences and earning widespread critical recognition. Its theatrical trailer generated enormous anticipation, circulating widely in cinemas throughout that year.

This cell, titled Gandalf and Gimli, captures three consecutive frames from the trailer set against rugged mountain terrain with snow-covered peaks visible in the distance. The first frame appears inverted on the strip, a natural artifact of how the footage was printed. The near-identical sequence across all three frames suggests a held or minimally moving shot from this dramatic alpine passage.
