FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released the live-action Scooby-Doo in June 2002, directed by Raja Gosnell from a script by James Gunn. The film marked a long-anticipated theatrical translation of Hanna-Barbera's beloved animated franchise, drawing on nostalgia while aiming squarely at a new generation. Shot on location in Queensland, Australia, it performed strongly at the box office and remains a touchstone of early 2000s family comedy.

This cell, titled Shaggy Rogers, captures Matthew Lillard mid-sequence within the film's distinctive psychedelic vortex effect, rendered in swirling greens and golds. Lillard's face distorts across the three frames as the effect progresses, offering an unusually abstract portrait of his performance. The sequence likely corresponds to the Spooky Island soul-transfer material, making this a visually striking piece of production history from the trailer campaign.
