FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released the live-action Scooby-Doo in June 2002, bringing Hanna-Barbera's beloved animated franchise to theaters for the first time with a cast-driven, effects-heavy production. Directed by Raja Gosnell and written by James Gunn, the film balanced nostalgia for longtime fans with broad comedy aimed at new audiences, becoming a genuine summer box office success and launching a sequel. The 35mm trailer print represents the theatrical marketing campaign as it existed before wide release.

This cell captures Daphne Blake in her confrontation with Zarkos, the film's acrobatic villain, at a circular tunnel or pipe opening on the rocky outdoor set. Photographed from an overhead angle, the frames document a distinct moment within their physical fight sequence, preserving the choreography and production design of one of the film's more memorable action exchanges.
