Warner Bros. released the live-action Scooby-Doo in June 2002, bringing the long-running Hanna-Barbera animated franchise to theaters for the first time with a blend of practical performance and early digital effects. The film marked a notable moment in early 2000s family comedy, pairing Matthew Lillard and Sarah Michelle Gellar with a fully CGI Scooby-Doo rendered by visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues.
This cell, titled Scooby and Shaggy, captures Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers alongside the digitally realized Scooby-Doo voiced by Neil Fanning, set against a graffiti-covered wall. The strip also includes frames featuring Linda Cardellini as Velma Dinkley in the same location. Of particular interest, the opening image on the strip is oriented upside-down, a small but distinctive quirk of this piece of trailer footage.
