Warner Bros. released the live-action Scooby-Doo in June 2002, bringing the long-running Hanna-Barbera animated franchise to theaters with a blend of practical costuming, location photography in Queensland, Australia, and early-generation CGI for its title character. The film marked a notable moment in early-2000s family comedy and performed well enough at the box office to warrant a 2004 sequel.
