FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released the live-action Scooby-Doo in June 2002, bringing the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated franchise to theaters for the first time with a hybrid live-action and CGI production. Directed by Raja Gosnell and written by James Gunn, the film drew a generation of fans raised on the original cartoon and introduced the property to younger audiences. It became a genuine box office success and remains a nostalgic touchstone of early 2000s family cinema.

This 35mm cell captures Shaggy Rogers mid-startle against a dark background, pulled from the moment tied to the title card "When Ghosts Say Boo." Matthew Lillard's physical performance as Shaggy is evident even in this single frame, his body language conveying the character's signature nervous energy. The duplicate frame within the cell offers two looks at the same frozen instant from the trailer.
