FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released The Matrix in March 1999, a science fiction action film written and directed by the Wachowskis. The film arrived at a pivotal moment in cinema, blending Hong Kong action choreography, cyberpunk philosophy, and groundbreaking visual effects into a work that reshaped the genre. Its cultural footprint proved enormous, influencing filmmaking, fashion, and popular thought well into the following decade.

This cell, titled Neo - Armed, captures three consecutive 35mm frames from what appears to be a major action sequence, most likely the iconic lobby confrontation. Neo is shown in his long black coat, gun in hand, surrounded by a smoky atmosphere. The sequential nature of the frames offers a rare glimpse into the film's kinetic rhythm as captured on original photographic film.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
