FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. Pictures released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuinely surprising achievement, blending sharp satirical humor with sincere emotional storytelling inside a fully animated world built from Lego bricks. Shot on 35mm elements and rendered with meticulous attention to the physical properties of plastic, it became both a critical and commercial landmark of mid-2010s animation.

This cell, titled Emmet Brickowski, captures three consecutive frames of the film's central character in an interior environment constructed from blue Lego bricks, with a single overhead light source defining the scene. The tight framing and repeated composition across all three frames suggest a quiet, contemplative moment, offering a rare still look at the character at the heart of the story.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
