FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuine surprise, blending anarchic humor with an unexpectedly sincere meditation on creativity and conformity. Shot entirely in a simulated stop-motion style using computer animation, it became a cultural touchstone and a commercial phenomenon, demonstrating that toy-licensed cinema could carry real artistic ambition.

This cell, titled Emmet - Construction Site, captures Emmet Brickowski across three frames drawn from an early sequence in the film. Two overhead angles show him amid a dense LEGO cityscape, one frame rotated on the strip, while a third presents him standing against an open sky with the city rising behind him — a quiet portrait of the story's ordinary hero before his world changes.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
