FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuine surprise, transforming a toy brand into a sharp, self-aware comedy that earned widespread critical praise and substantial box office returns. Its animation style, deliberately replicating the look of physical bricks in motion, represented a meaningful technical achievement and set a template for the franchise that followed.

This three-frame cell captures consecutive moments from Vitruvius's temple, one of the film's more atmospheric interior settings. The warm orange and gold brick elements glow against the dark upper environment, while the blue reflective surface below gives the sequence a theatrical, almost ceremonial quality consistent with the location's narrative weight.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
