FILM NOTES

The Lego Movie arrived in February 2014 from Warner Bros. Pictures and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, becoming an immediate cultural landmark. Built from the beloved construction toy brand, the film surprised audiences and critics alike with its layered humor, genuine emotional depth, and inventive visual language that translated the tactile quality of physical Lego bricks into fluid theatrical animation. Its commercial and artistic success reshaped expectations for branded entertainment and launched an enduring franchise.

This cell, titled Emmet and Vitruvius, captures three consecutive frames from what appears to be a single dramatic interior shot — a grand, luminously lit hall or temple environment rendered in the film's signature animated style. Both Emmet Brickowski and the ancient wizard Vitruvius are present amid the bright, saturated light effects that define some of the film's most visually striking sequences. Three near-duplicate frames from one continuous moment make this a compelling artifact of the animation process itself.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
