FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. Pictures released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuine surprise, transforming a toy brand into a sharp, self-aware comedy that earned widespread critical acclaim and strong box office returns. Its entirely computer-generated imagery was deliberately designed to mimic the look of physical stop-motion animation with real plastic bricks, a technical and artistic achievement that defined its visual identity from the very first frame.

This cell, confirmed as LEGO - Title Card, captures three consecutive moments from the film's opening title sequence, preserving the iconic LEGO logo rendered in red brick lettering against a deep blue background. Printed on 35mm, the strip documents the animation in motion across its three frames, offering a rare look at how the filmmakers established the production's tactile brick aesthetic before a single scene had unfolded.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
