FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. Pictures released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuine surprise, transforming a toy brand into a layered, self-aware comedy that resonated with critics and audiences alike. Its entirely computer-animated aesthetic, designed to replicate the look of physical stop-motion Lego bricks, represented a distinctive visual achievement that set it apart from conventional animated features of the period.

This cell, titled Vitruvius, captures three frames from an elevated nighttime sequence set within a bustling Lego cityscape. Warm practical lighting illuminates the scene from above, and the ancient wizard Vitruvius can be identified among the figures below. The slight positional shift across the three frames suggests continuous motion, preserving a brief but coherent moment from the film's kinetic visual storytelling.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
