FILM NOTES

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's The Lego Movie arrived in February 2014 through Warner Bros. Pictures, catching many observers off guard with its sharp wit and genuine emotional depth. Built on a foundation of animation that meticulously replicated the look of physical plastic bricks, the film became both a critical success and a cultural touchstone, demonstrating that licensed properties could yield thoughtful, original storytelling.

This 35mm cell, titled Emmet Brickowski, captures the film's everyman protagonist across three consecutive frames set within a dim LEGO interior. Blue and grey brick structures fill the environment, and an overhead lamp casts the scene in a contained, intimate light. The consistent framing across all three frames gives the strip a quiet, sequential rhythm that rewards close examination.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
