FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. Animation released The Lego Movie in February 2014, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film arrived as a genuine surprise, transforming a toy property into a sharp, visually inventive comedy that earned widespread critical praise and strong box office returns. Shot entirely in a simulated stop-motion style using computer animation, it left a lasting mark on mainstream animated filmmaking and demonstrated that unconventional source material could yield genuinely ambitious cinema.

This cell, titled Emmet and Wyldstyle Falling, captures three consecutive frames from a single shot, preserving the subtle positional shift that creates the illusion of motion. Emmet Brickowski and Wyldstyle are visible in warm amber light, the sequence offering a rare tangible fragment of the film's meticulous frame-by-frame construction.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
