FILM NOTES

The Lego Movie arrived in February 2014 from Warner Bros. Pictures and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, becoming an unexpected cultural landmark. Built on the premise of a plastic construction toy universe, the film balanced sharp satire with genuine emotional weight, earning widespread critical acclaim and launching a franchise. Its blend of stop-motion aesthetic with computer animation gave it a distinctive visual identity that set it apart from conventional animated features of the period.

This cell captures Emmet Brickowski, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius together in an interior scene, the trio's name confirmed in the cell title. The frames run rotated ninety degrees on the strip, a common artifact of certain 35mm prints. Across all three frames the composition holds nearly constant, with subtle movement distinguishing each exposure, offering a close sequential study of the film's three central characters sharing the same space.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
