FILM NOTES

Forrest Gump was released by Paramount Pictures in July 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis from Eric Roth's adaptation of Winston Groom's novel. The film became one of the defining cultural touchstones of its decade, earning six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. Tom Hanks's central performance anchored a sprawling, effects-driven narrative that wove fictional characters through real historical events. Its commercial and critical success made it one of the most discussed American films of the 1990s.

This cell, titled Young Forrest and Jenny, captures a quiet, intimate moment between Young Forrest Gump, played by Michael Conner Humphreys, and Young Jenny Curran, played by Hanna Hall. Across three consecutive frames from the same shot, Jenny leans toward Forrest in a warmly lit interior, appearing to offer him something to drink. The near-identical compositions across the trio document a single sustained gesture, preserving a small but tender exchange from early in the story.
