FILM NOTES

Forrest Gump was released by Paramount Pictures in July 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel. The film became one of the defining cultural touchstones of its decade, earning six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. Shot on 35mm by cinematographer Don Burgess, it blended intimate character drama with sweeping American history across three decades, and its warm, naturalistic photography made it a particularly rewarding source for film cells.

This cell, titled Jenny and Forrest, captures three adjacent frames from a quiet indoor moment shared between Jenny Curran and Forrest Gump. Jenny is visibly smiling, her expression directed upward toward Forrest, whose white shirt and the edge of his red cap are visible in frame. The near-duplicate nature of the three frames reflects the continuity of a single held moment, giving the cell an almost portrait-like stillness that suits the tenderness of their relationship throughout the film.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
