Forrest Gump was released by Paramount Pictures in July 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel. The film became one of the defining cultural touchstones of its decade, earning six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor. Shot on 35mm by cinematographer Don Burgess, its warm, textured photography gave the film a timeless quality that has made original film elements particularly meaningful to collectors.

Forrest Gump #44 captures three consecutive 35mm frames from the football sequence, showing Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump on the field in his red uniform near a goal post marker, surrounded by players and officials. The slight motion shift across the three frames preserves the living quality of the original photographic moment.
