FILM NOTES

Forrest Gump was released by Paramount Pictures in July 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel. The film became one of the defining cultural touchstones of its decade, earning six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director. Shot on 35mm by cinematographer Don Burgess, its visual warmth and intimate close-up work became central to its emotional language, making original film cells from the production particularly meaningful artifacts.

This cell, titled Forrest and Jenny, captures Jenny Curran in a series of close-up frames against a dark background, her hair loose, the lighting soft and concentrated on her face. Forrest Gump is also identified within the frame. The three-frame sequence preserves a quiet, recurring visual rhythm from one of cinema's most recognized relationships, presented here in the original 35mm format.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
