FILM NOTES

Forrest Gump was released by Paramount Pictures in July 1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis and produced by Wendy Finerman. Adapted from Winston Groom's novel, the film became one of the defining American pictures of its decade, sweeping the Academy Awards with six wins including Best Picture and Best Director. Its blend of personal history against a backdrop of postwar American life gave it an enduring cultural weight that has only deepened with time.

This cell, titled Jenny Curran, captures three frames from the same continuous shot during the anti-war rally sequence on the Washington Mall. Jenny appears in a blue jacket, her blonde hair loose and catching the air, her gaze turned slightly toward camera as the crowd surrounds her — a quiet, recognizable moment from one of the film's most visually distinctive scenes.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
