FILM NOTES

George Lucas returned to the director's chair for the first time in over two decades when Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox released Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace in May 1999. The film launched a prequel trilogy that expanded the mythology of one of cinema's most enduring franchises, drawing enormous global audiences and marking a turning point in the use of digital production techniques in mainstream filmmaking.

This cell, titled Qui-Gon Jinn, captures Liam Neeson's Jedi Master in a close low-angle composition, his hand prominent in the foreground against a warm, glowing interior light source. Across the three frames, a bright yellow-green lens flare shifts behind the figure, giving the sequence a distinctive quality that reflects the film's carefully crafted visual atmosphere.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
