FILM NOTES

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace arrived in May 1999 from Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox, ending a sixteen-year gap in the saga. Directed by George Lucas, it introduced a new generation to the Star Wars universe while reuniting longtime fans with its mythology. The film remains a landmark of late-1990s blockbuster filmmaking, notable for its pioneering use of digital production techniques and its enormous cultural footprint upon release.

This cell, titled R2-D2 and C-3PO, presents three close-up frames of R2-D2, portrayed by Kenny Baker, set against a sandy, dusty environment consistent with the film's desert locations. The repeated frames capture the beloved droid in characteristic detail, offering a focused look at one of cinema's most recognizable figures. Anthony Daniels, who portrays C-3PO, is also credited to this cell.
