Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was released by Lucasfilm through 20th Century Fox in May 1999, arriving sixteen years after Return of the Jedi and carrying the full weight of one of cinema's most devoted audiences. Directed by George Lucas, it launched the prequel trilogy and remains a significant cultural and commercial landmark of late-twentieth-century filmmaking.

This cell, titled R2-D2 & C-3PO, captures a sequence from what appears to be a workshop or hangar environment. The frames follow R2-D2 across a close progression of shots, with C-3PO entering the composition as the sequence continues. Both Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels are present within these frames, making this a meaningful piece of 35mm original camera negative from the production.
