FILM NOTES

George Lucas returned to the director's chair for the first time in over two decades when Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox released Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace in May 1999. The film launched a prequel trilogy that expanded the mythology of one of cinema's most enduring franchises, drawing enormous global audiences and marking a turning point in the use of digital production techniques in mainstream filmmaking.

This cell, titled Yoda and Mace Windu, captures a sequence from the Jedi Council chamber, where both figures appear in close framing against warm amber light. The three sequential frames show the natural progression of a single moment, with Yoda and Mace Windu present in each, offering a quiet and composed glimpse into one of the saga's most iconic settings.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
