Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace arrived in May 1999 as one of the most anticipated theatrical events in cinema history. Produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film marked George Lucas's return to the director's chair after more than two decades and launched a prequel trilogy set before the events of the original saga. Its release represented a cultural moment that drew generations of audiences back to theaters worldwide.

This cell preserves the Lucasfilm Ltd. logo card as it appeared on screen at the very opening of the film, before any other image or title. Printed on 35mm, it captures the production company's identity mark against a plain black field, occupying the precise moment when the theatrical experience formally began.
