FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 blockbuster. Expanding the original film's mythology across three time periods, the sequel pushed practical and optical effects to new limits and offered one of cinema's most elaborate visions of the future. Shot on 35mm, the film remains a landmark of late-eighties Hollywood filmmaking.

This cell, titled Marty McFly, captures consecutive frames from what appears to be a pivotal moment aboard the DeLorean. Marty McFly, recognizable in his plaid shirt and yellow jacket, leans over futuristic instrumentation while Jennifer Parker is visible behind him. An earlier frame shows two figures within the cockpit interior, its instrument panel casting colored light across the scene. Doc Brown's presence grounds the sequence in the film's central partnership.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
