FILM NOTES

Back to the Future Part II was released by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in November 1989, arriving as one of the most anticipated sequels of its decade. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film pushed practical and optical effects into new territory while expanding the time-travel mythology established in the original. It remains a landmark of late-1980s studio filmmaking and a touchstone of popular science fiction.

This cell, titled Marty and Doc, captures three consecutive frames from a Hill Valley exterior scene, with the number 220 and the Aetna sign visible in the background. Doc Brown, identifiable by his white hair and patterned coat, stands alongside Marty McFly in darker clothing — a quiet moment preserved across three frames of original 35mm.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
