Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 blockbuster. The sequel expanded the franchise's ambitions considerably, sending its characters into a dystopian alternate 1985 ruled by corruption and greed. Shooting on 35mm, cinematographer Dean Cundey gave the film a rich, saturated palette that distinguished each timeline visually.
This cell, titled Marty and Jennifer, captures several figures across its frames against the film's distinctive colorful panel lighting, characteristic of the alternate-timeline casino and mansion interiors. Biff Tannen and Lorraine Baines appear together in one frame, while Marty McFly and Jennifer Parker share another, and Marty appears alongside Lorraine in a third, reflecting the tangled family dynamics central to the alternate-1985 storyline.
