Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, continuing one of the decade's most beloved science fiction franchises. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film expanded the time-travel mythology established in the original, taking audiences from 1985 to a vision of 2015 and back to an altered 1955. It remains a cultural touchstone of late-eighties Hollywood filmmaking.
