FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, completing one of the most ambitious sequels of the decade. Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale expanded their time-travel premise across three distinct versions of Hill Valley, and the film's visual ambition — particularly its dystopian alternate 1985 — pushed practical and effects filmmaking in ways that defined late-eighties Hollywood craft.

This cell, titled Lorraine Baines, captures Lea Thompson's performance across a tight sequence set within the shadowed interior of Biff's casino-hotel during the 1985-A timeline. The frames document both the Tannen and McFly variants of Lorraine Baines, with subtle shifts in lighting and moment distinguishing the two readings of the same character across consecutive frames.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
