FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale with the cast of their 1985 phenomenon. Shooting on 35mm, the production built elaborate practical sets depicting 2015 Hill Valley and a darkened alternate 1985, making every frame a document of late-decade Hollywood craft at its most ambitious. The film remains a landmark of the science-fiction sequel.

This three-frame consecutive run captures Lorraine Baines within a shadowed interior, warm practical lighting catching reflective surfaces around her as the scene unfolds across each successive exposure. Held on original 35mm, the strip preserves a continuous sliver of her presence in one of the film's more dramatically charged environments.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
