FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment released Back to the Future Part II in November 1989, reuniting audiences with the time-traveling adventure that had captivated moviegoers four years earlier. The sequel pushed deeper into speculative territory, depicting a vision of 2015 that became one of cinema's most discussed futures. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film was a massive commercial success and remains a touchstone of late-1980s popular culture.

This cell, titled Marty and Doc, captures a quiet exchange between the two central figures in what reads as a workshop or laboratory environment. The white-haired Doc and his younger companion Marty share the frame across continuous action, preserving a moment of collaboration that defines the heart of the entire trilogy.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
