Back to the Future Part II was released by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in November 1989, arriving with enormous anticipation as the direct sequel to Robert Zemeckis's 1985 phenomenon. Picking up the moment its predecessor ended, the film sent its leads into a then-distant 2015, cementing the franchise as one of Hollywood's most beloved science-fiction comedies and a defining artifact of late-eighties popular culture.
